Hi All,

Has anybody tried to fit the sunroof rails sold on ebay I have a problem with the near side, something snapped not had it apart yet but found plastic bits broken off in the tracks.

Was thinking of trying replacing the rail but wondered if it was difficult, lots of threads seem to have issues with re setting the opening and closing travel.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mine is broken and I have deemed it too expensive to fix, so I have taken the fuse out.
There is a description, somewhere on the interweb, of a chap using a cut down piano hinge to repair the broken lug.
This apperently works fine.
As for me if it don't leak I'm not touching it. :)

Hi There.

Mine been broken for about 12 months and after removing the glass, managed to work the rail down on the off side re fit the glass, and took on your view " leave it alone",however after opening and shutting the doors for a year the pressure in the car as the door shuts has worked it open enough to cause lots of road noise and some ingress of water when it rains. Gaffer tape now on roof looks bad but works.

This said if I can fix it I would rather do that. After all I live in live in tropical Manchester its essential.

Always wanted an old car to do up 51 Plate Landy and had it for 8 years now got one I suppose.

Regards

If it's leaking it's game on.
Find out whats actually broken then you can take it from there.
There are some repair kits on fleabay, i don't know what quality there are, when you've repaired it keep it greased and it should last a while.

My FL is 12 so I know what you mean, good luck.
