Stuck removing brake light switch

Hi all,

I’m trying to replace the brake light switch on my 2006 Freelander 1 TD4, but I’m having trouble removing the old one. It’s positioned right next to a sensor, which is preventing it from twisting out as expected. I’ve also tried removing the sensor bracket, but it seems to be blocked by the switch itself when I attempt to move it.

Has anyone run into this before or have any tips on how to get it out?

There is room, honest !!

Unplug connector and it rotates. Corners are cut off to make clearance for sensor.

Update: all sorted and new brake light switch has solved the issue!

Ended up having to remove the sensor prior to getting the old brake light switch out.
