I changed my rocker gaskets - it's stopped leaking along the valve cover (and onto the plug leads and manifold which is a bonus) but it's still dropping about 10 3" round patches everywhere I park...

I can see pools of oil in the castings behind the distributor and the water pump - and it then runs down the block. It's covered in the stuff.

I recently changed the oil and put some 10/40 in - it was leaking before the change but it worse now. It's not overfilled but is it possible that oil is too thin?

That would make sense from where it's coming from - how hard are they to change? Is that the metal inlet gasket?

Or is it this part number: ERC3990 INLET MANIFOLD VALLEY GASKET V8 - doesn't say an engine size on the site I found.

There are two rubber seals which sit on top of the block at the front and back under the valley gasket.Takes about 4 hours to replace with the valley gasket. Need some RTV silicone sealant for the seals and Hylomar for the valley gasket.
What engine is in your car??

Got them changed (paid FBB in Shrewton in the end to do it - lack of time!) seems to be sorted. It may now hav a small fuel leak but I will leave it a couple days to make sure it's not just grot falling out of places after the work was done. Plus it was heating up really quickly compared to normal - needed an extra litre of coolant put directly into the rad so that may have been all that was wrong there....
