hi guys finally got to look at my poorly steering reach today and it wasn't good news, the flexible drive shaft between the reach motor and column has chewed up on one end making it impossible to fit in the shaft or the motor so i need to get a replacement, it dosen't come with the motor kit and is only supplied as part of the steering coloumn which i've just been quoted 3k plus to replace, yes there are used coloumns on ebay ranging from £500 up some of these are pre 2006 though and may suffer from the tilt problem in the future, anybody got any ideas where i can get the drive shaft from? mine is a 2003 l322

ok ignore this post in blind panic lol , i bit of inginuity, cable ties and a bench grinder i managed to fix it, i've ended up taking a few mm's off the damaged end reground it on the bench grinder so it would fit the motor and it worked! was going to fit new reach motor bracket while i was under the dash, but not really enough room to see to line it all up etc so used the cable tie trick to remount the motor and now its all working again!

Now disable it with diagnostics so it doesn't break again.

RRkev, Keith's not used to these luxuries with a P38 :D. ;)

You could allways just leave it in the 'stowed away' position like I do !! :D

ha ha not saying a word about p38 lol, mine all started with the threads going a little dry which broke the clip, so when the motor dropped slightly it chewed the drive all in all a right pain, but at least it's working now with the cable tie fix in place lol
