Starting problem 2.4 defender

hi I have an intermittent starting problem with my 2.4 2008 defender only done 60000 it turns over ok but every now and then hot or cold it doesn't fire up, I have changed glow plugs and new fuel filter there's no smoke from exhaust black or white when cranking over and no lights on dash and no faults recorded any ideas many thanks

Well, apart from the obvious comment of it being broke.........

I'd suggest you have a look at some live data to see which bit has let its smoke out and doesn't want to play any more......

Right !! fault showed something to do with crank case sensor replaced this but still the same next cam shaft sensor if not right then can anyone recommend repair place near Gravesend who could deal with it many thanks

Just read up on position of sensor and has to be fitted very close to flywheel teeth, this done now seems to be working fine it had a clutch fitted recently by previous owner and the left the sensors heat shield off so we think the heat from the exhaust manifold damaged the sensor. Hope this might help someone else
