Starting issues! Confusing?!

Hi all, this weekend I've been using the 90 and started it drive it for a while. Went back to start it again the dash lights come on then turn the key and nothing! Tried jump
Leads off another vehicle nothing! We bump started it and it was fine then stopped again same problem! After investigation the ignition switch has 3 positions 1. Dash lights on turn to 2. And hold and this does the heaters for the cylinders! 3. Is to start! First position is right but when 2nd is turned nothing normally a light comes on but now it doesn't and when turned to start position nothing but when held there smoke apears from the dash this is coming from the back of the barrell am I right I'm thinking that the barrel is shorting out?

Any help appreciated!

maybe, take it off and have a look.

they do go and you can just replace the switch part.. or like my PO scothblock wires in with a toggle switch and bypass it all

Have a look at the heater control cables as some are covered some are not. While I was recently playing in the dash I moved the heater cable and did some welding!

I have ordered a new ignition barrell as I only have the one key! What cour wires should I use if I need to bypass it ? To start it?

That's not the type of information to put up on a public forum!!!
Have a search online for the wiring diagram?

Ah yes true! I have looked online but cannot find one I understand haha any chance someone can pm it to me?

may not be the issue could be other wiring or fuse block If smoke is coming from the dash that is where I would look first.

Guys, I've found it! It's the wire that goes from the ignition switch the pre heaters! I removed that and started it on the key! I'm guessing the switch it shorting out via the heaters! So I need to check the wiring to the heaters and I'll replace the ignition switch! Cheers guys!

Just unplug the glow plug relay for now to isolate it
