Since getting our Freelander 1 2004 a year ago we have had problem after problem and the latest is the car not starting. The lights are all on but just will not turn over.

Tried to check immobiliser, seems fine. We read that if the relay makes a clicking sound then it's likely faulty so that's our next step.

Just not sure how to purchase. Do I need to buy a specific SM relay or will a universal fit type work?

I only needed to limp her into February when my motability car arrives but she's not a happy lady.

Any advice on the Relay? Thanks In Advance

Probably best to post in the freelander section.

Check & clean the battery terminals.
Fully charge the battery using a battery charger.
Clean the starter motor terminals.
If it still doesn't work connect a good quality jump lead to the battery earth terminal & to a good clean piece of metal on the engine - to check if earth leads are in good order.
