Hi,
Just looking for a bit of advice before I get a new or recon starter fitted to my 99 plate 2.0 XEDI Freelander.
I'm pretty sure it is the starter that's stuck as it bump started but won't jump start. I've rocked it in gear to free the starter and that doesn't seem to work, but when I turn the ignition, it seems there is a clicking noise coming from 1 of 3 yellow relays located directly above the starter behind the bulkhead.
Do these have anything to do with the starter and should I look to replace the relay first?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the reply mate. I needed a new battery for sure so got a good cheap deal off a friend with a car shop and thought I'd fit that first to rule it out as it was needed.
Still wouldn't start so I thought I'd check the contacts on the starter before going for the solenoid rebuild.
When I pushed a connector which seems to be located below the starter, it fired up?! It is a small black connector going into the crankcase I think, which seems to have unscrewed itself.
Has been fine for a few days and than wouldn't start today until I pushed the connector again.
Looking like I should replace this but I'm not sure what it is.
Have you any idea?
Really appreciate any help.
