Been invited to take part in the Salzburg 4x4 trials in two weeks by my mechanic. He runs a 4x4 center that mainly deals with jeeps, as the Austrians have not developed taste in off-roaders yet and prefere those yanky buckets. I thought this would be a breeze until i went on the web site my mechanic gave me the address to, and to my abject shock I saw some of the most modified wranglers i have ever seen. All were minimum 300 bhp, but some were boasting between 600-800 bhp. Flying up these bloody steep hill as easy as kiss my hand and the noise the make! jesus. I know i shouldn't take the lords name in vain but JESUS!!! now I am a liitle apprehensive. I have been told the trials are for any 4x4 and that its not so bad but listen; all you fine Defender owners out there, is there really any thing my lovely 300 tdi Defender 90 shouldn't be doing? surely I can stick one in the eye of the yanks and come out victorious? or should I politely decline the invitation to save face?
