Hi guys, on my MOT, i had an advisory for "both front stabilzer bar outer bushes" worn.

What and where do i find these? Is that the front anti roll bar? Has anyone got a picture or how to replace them?

Another one was "offside drag link end ball joint has slight play". Is that the one on the drivers side to the front of the axle? Not the rear

Many thanks in advance

Yeah the stabilizer bar should be the anti roll bar but it's not uncommon for mot guys to use terms totally different to what we're used to e.g. suspension arm instead of radius arm, could be any one of four. Normally they will mark areas of concern with chalk so have a look. The offskde drag link end ball joint can only be the rear track rod ball joint on the drivers side as, unless you have a discovery drop arm, the drag link at the front only has a ball joint on the passengers side at the front

Thanks for the reply. Found the drag link bj at the back of the axle. When is the anti roll bar then? Know what radius arms are, but not the anti roll bar/stabiliser bar

The anti roll bar should be quite obvious. Unless you don't have it and he means something else entirely, after all he did call the track rod a drag link, which it's not. Do us a favour, take a pic of your axle and we'll be able to tell you in an instant if you have an anti roll bar or not. If you don't I have a feeling he may mean the panhard rod

didnt think defender had front ARBs???

have anosey and look for the chalk marks, or take it back and ask for clarification, luckily my MOT chap will get me down in the pit after the test to show me exactly what he means.

Some did and some didn't. Others have the brackets for them but wont have them fitted. Mine unfortunately didn't have them fitted from standard so no brackets. You can get aftermarket kits to fit them though, think I saw exmoor doing them (might not have been then) but the brackets just rivnut into the chassis rails and weld onto the axle
