Having recently fitted a 2.25 diesil engine into my series 3 swb I have a query regarding the spill rail pipe. (See also Smoking Series three diesil. Help me I am going mad!!) Currently this goes from the top of the 4 injectors and then connects tothe top of the fuel filter housing via a banjo union. The pipe has come off and happily pumpsd out fuel from the injector rails. No fuel comes from the now disconnected pipe leading to the fuel filter. Have I connected this spill pipe correctly? Should it go back to the tank or on another port on the filter housing? Your help gratefully received as always. Cheers M

Hello happy jack
the problems ive had with spill rails!
the spill rail pipe at No 4 injector has a connector that runs unwanted diesel staight through bank to the fuel tank you may need a connector on tank for this if you have thepetrol tank

the banjo bolt on No4 is differnet to the others as it bolts down the spill rail and also has a connector off the end that goes to the fuel sedimentor

its important not to have leaks as it can get air in leading to fuel starving and stalling and the MOT man wont like leaks, if you have leaks from banjo bolts and new copper/aluminium washers dont stop it some PTFE tape can help

Thankyou. I will get a pipe and work out how to get this into the tank. Cheers M
