Disco failed the MOT today, shocker bushes, rear brake pipe lines, slack
front bearing (advisory on this).

Now I was dreading doing the pipes, did em in less time than it wook to get
the tools out and set up.

Then came the easy bleed , cracking bit of kit....

If only I could find the seals that go in the lid of the master cylinder
reserviour.... I distinctly remember putting them "somewhere safe", even
going to the extent of placing them in a tin so they don't get perished. An
easy to find tin "somewhere safe" what more could I do.

Can I buggery find them! I'd say 2/3rd's of the jobs I do work out this
way.. then spending more time looking for "somewhere safe" to put them for
next time.

Grrrr!!!

We've just had a large pre-fab concrete garage erected, about 45ft by
16ft, with a 16ft long pit. All the tools, equipment, parts are in it,
and it is such a nice change to not have to go dodging off to the
shed, or the workshop or the yard or the other end of the house to
find a tool. Everything is now in the one place.

Still can't find tools when you need them the most though......

It'll turn up sometime. I recently found two stashes of spare
strimmer cable, shortly after buying a third :-(

Buggrit - I'm not buying another 3/4" drive impact wrench just to make
the missing incumbent reappear. Do you think hiring one will have the
same effect?

Maybe, but consider an alternative, suggest to the recalcitrant object, you don't
really need it, this will usually cause it to appear, but be careful as soon as
you show you really do want it, by attempting to lift it or the like, it'll be off
like a shot and bury itself deeper than you ever thought possible in the most
inaccessible place, often the cesspit, might be worth looking there first!

easibleed seals still remain AWOL but the seal from the first was
transplanted to the 2nd and very little used kit and worked fine... Kit 3

yes, the phone has a calculator too, but it's a pain to use and doesn't do
scientific stuff. The windows calculator used to have a scientific mode but
it wasn't as handy to use as a real one. Best one I recall was the
X-windows Xcalc which had a -analog option which gave you a virtual slide
rule. now that was cool.

Ah yes, that great place 'somewhere safe'. So far it has claimed:

My complete Sony Camcorder (have turned house upside down it has gone)
and no it wasn't nicked!.
My £80 Gerber multi tool
My 2 Camelbak rucksack/water bladder things
Every map that i ever want at short notice
Same with CD's (music and software)
Battery chargers......

you name it, it's been put 'somewhere safe' and sometimes it's never
seena again (a la camcorder!)
