ive been cross axled with my wheel suspended and the spring is still firmly seated. the other spring however did start to bind (hence the need for extended bump stops!)

It says file exceeds the forums size limit, anything i can do about this?? Yes i do have cranked rear trailing arms but prior to fitting these they did still dislocate, if your crossing something where opposing wheels are on higher ground, i.e. cross axled then yes they will dislocate, in the same way if you approach a bank at an angle you will get a dislocated spring, i mean why are we arguing about this its all pretty basic stuff!!!

Because I've had my disco and my 110 cross axled a couple of times and I've never dislocated a spring.

you need to use an imaging program to reduce the file size to that required... like i said previously. ive been x-axled and all was fine! i think you have upgraded yours so much it requires EVEN more kit to keep it together.

like pikey said, if you run regualr radius/trailing arms (and A frame joint) your axle wont articulate enough to dislocate springs

I don't have front cones either only on the rear. Fair cop (if there is such a thing) yeah if your running all standard stuff it probably won't articulate enough to dislocate, mine with my gear does, i ain't gonna argue over if it will or won't and i don't need EVEN more equipment to keep it together, its not like its falling appart!!!

Note dislocated spring, position of vehicle purely for demonstartive purposes when cones were fitted on our farm.

can you keep the file size higher by cropping to just the wheel arch? this will make it clearer closer to the subject. i cant see anything there! also, take away that circle. i know WHERE it will dislocate, i dont need a circle to tell me.

G

f**cked if i know how to do it, the forum won't let you put anything up any bigger than a postage stamp and i can't crop it without it being too big, copy and paste the photo into your own photo shop thingy and zoom in!!!
