near big mountains and lots of mud
think i found the cause of the nasty vibration that comes in at 50 +mph, small bit of play in the front uj near the diff, would this be enough to cause it?bit pi55ed as i changed it for a gkn about 18 months ago and have greased it often

The UJ's will give a vibration if there is any play in them at all.

Although you changed it about 18 months ago, have you been mud plugging or wading?

For the very low cost of replacing it, I would be inclined to change both UJ's on a prop and not just the one!

Mine were changed about 3 years ago, are kept greased and regularly do fast motorway round trips of 4-500 miles, and still no problems.

HTH.

not been deep mud plugging or wading, agee i would always do 2 as well, makes sense once the props off, when ever i try greasing them, its always difficult to get the grease in,does not take much it seems

Because they have needle roller bearings I pump enough in to see it coming out in the middle of the crosspiece, as that is the bit that's effectively open.

If you are having difficulty pumping in, might I suggest that you take the nipples out and either clean or replace them.

You should meet minimal resistance when pumping the grease in.
