 Here we are, believe it or not it's been sunny in Ireland!! and the aircon suddenly started blowing ambient air. Went to Halfrauds and bought 500g of gas to top it up-result-no change and €50 worse off. Did my bit for the environment and popped the valve on the aircon pipe-zilch, nothing, no gas.
Took it to a local aircon engineer yesterday and surprise surprise there's a pin hole in the top left corner of the condenser, on the "U" bend of the top tube.
Had the condenser replaced with a new one 2years ago after having the same fault in the same place. I know that metal "Thins" when bent but to replace the condenser every 2 years or so aint on-it will be part of the service schedule next!! Have ordered one (New) off egay with 2 year guarantee for £100 shipped, let's hope that lasts longer.
No doubt the weather will now get cooler from now on...just my luck.:( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Renoved the old condenser last weekend-easy job as the system was empty took about half an hour, taped the open ends of the pipes to stop any crap getting in and unplugged the compressor, just in case.
Used the car as normal a few times without problems.
Ordered the new one up last weekend but it has not arrived. Was hoping to get the new one in today so that I could have taken it to get the system gassed up. Maybe it will come tomorrow and I can take it then-reckon it will take me half and hour to fit.:( :( :( :( :( :( :(

With a possible 15 bar pressure and a regass at 100euro a go didn't want to take the chance especially with the heat that's generated in the condenser. I am a member of the Green Party-that's why I drive a 4.6HSE and didn't want to make the hole in the ozone layer any bigger with leaking aircon gas!!!!!;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
