I've read s many threads now on good old shock absorbers, I know the general conclusion is go with the factory unless you like it firmer

I had a shudder when hitting bumps with LHF wheel, I rulled out shocks as the car is on it's 3rd set all dealer supplied and fitted, this set only 15000 miles ago. Followed wife the other night and the LHF wheel was bouncing.

Checked the shock and almost no resistance in either direction, not feeling to keen on factory ones and mine are as they are stamped Landrover, no maker mark though after all I would though they should last longer. so looked at other

Koni - out of my budget
Bilstein - Pricey
Britpart - Many warnings read
Monroe - Again warnings of being really soft
Boge/Armstrong - Factory 3 sets in 107000 miles!!!!
So after recommendation went with Terrafirma All Terrains

Nice and cheap, seem well made heavier than factory ones and mounts are heavier duty.

I'm pleasantly surprised, ride is well damped and compliant not stiff or harsh, I have a level crossing near me that is not 90 degrees to road and it creates a left right sway, this is all but gone.

Wife drives the P38 mostly and just changed from a Citroen XM and she likes a comfy ride and she complained about the Rangie but she actually noticed how much better it is now, (this is from someone who did not notice that the loud scraping noise under the old car was a traffic cone she had hit and driven with for about 5 miles)

She hates my Astra F with Bilstein and Eibach suspension

Happy days, maybe she will actually talk to me today with out :censored:
