Hi All,

My Disco 1 has a 3" suspension lift fitted by a previous owner. One of the rear shocks has broken so I need new ones. Everyone only seems to stock +2" and +4". Any ideas whether either of these would be ok? How much lee-way is there at either end of the travel?

Alternatively, does anyone know who stocks +3" shocks???

Cheers.

I use Procomp ES9000 +5" shocks. Very few issues, they get hammered, other than one breaking after about two years hard use, and being fitted incorrectly. I have a Disco axle and didn't remove the bush holder cups .... Very surprised they lastedthat long! Just bought the same again, can't remember where from, but usually Paddocks ...;)

Cheers! I was worried about using ones that were 'too long' for my 3" lift and running out of travel on compression. Looking at the specs of the ES9000:
Ext Col Travel
STD 22.78 13.78 9
+2" 24.84 14.82 10
+4" 27 15.94 11.13

It seems that the range between extended and collapsed length widens as they go up. So by rights my limit for collapsed length should be standard + 3" which is 16.78" but the +4s will go down to 15.94" which gives me a bit of spare travel at either end of the range.
