can anyone recommend reasonably priced shockers to replace the ones i am going to have to cut off to fit my 2" lift springs on my defender, also would they also have to be +2" or would standard ones do, Jim.

i believe longer shocks will allow for greater axel articulation and travel. i use the decarbon shocks on my d90. gas shocks react faster then the standard LR shocks, so that would yield a more 'plesant' ride.

spend the extra money and get old man emu. That is what I am buying on monday and you will get your lift and have far better road handling, better than your standard vehicle and also better off road. it will be worth it in the long run.
