Advice needed please!
my 90 has suddenly developed a violent shake when driving between 45 and 60 ish. Its similar to driving accross rumble strips or as if i'm in too higher gear.

But, it stops as soon as i back off the throttle or if i put it into neutral!

any ideas?
thanks

just a thought.... have ye checked for play in the wheels? as in checkin the bearings. If there's a bit off play there, it might be bearings or just the drive flanges. Like I sed, it's just a thought;) :D

Also have a look at you steering damper. They get really soft in the middle and then you feel the road, especially doing over 40mph. They only cost about £15 and its a 10min job to change. Also the bushes on the rest of the steering and front suspension degrade and get all slack - also cheap (ish) to change. Rgds Tony

There is a transfer box shock absorber on TD5 that can cause vibration at about 50, might be worth checking if you got one.

Had the same prob. I have just replaced swivel pin housings and steering damper and it's like new! Check wheel balance and pressures as well. swivel pin bearings were dry on LHS and the drag (which you add shims to lessen) has to be harder than you think. Was not a difficult job I had biggest headache getting the blasted ball joint nuts off....had to split em in the end as all rusted on.
