Hi

I am booking my Freelander into a dealer for a 24k service. I have no
apparent problems and was wondering how much this service costs.

Gold plated ones ???

Sod main dealer, find a good 4 x 4 specialist cost you half and the
mechanics are usually enthusiasts not kids plucked from burger joints!!!

what you save in costs will be more than what you'd loose on non main
delaer history. As long as it has documented history resale would be no
issue

It also does NOT negate your warranty. Trading Standards Office has
instructed all car manufacturers that sell cars in the UK that they MUST
accept a reasonably qualified mechanic's work instead of dealership for
warranty purposes. They said if they don't stop this daft practice of an
effective monopoly, TSO will investigate and hand out fines and order
them to do it.

Cheers, TSO. :) Friend of mine with a Peugeot had much fun at the local
garage when they started arguing. Local TSO was nice enough to give the
dealer a call and "advise" them too. :)

Cheers,
Aled.
