Now the snow is out that means the gritters are out and i have a sneek suspicion its the salt and moisture that is drying out my fan belt? could i be right.....

its making a clicking noise when cold and a squeek every now and then when warm....

i sprayed just the smigesyest bit of lube on it and it all went away so my question is does anyone els have problems with this through the winter?

and does it sound like mine just needs replacing and if so im having trouble sourcing a original landrover one?

Defender 90 300tdi

Sometimes the 300TDi just squeeks for the hell of it as many people will testify, a new belt & tensioner (OE parts) aren't always guarenteed to stop it either. Mine does it occasionally regardless of the weather but I have to say that for 95% of the time it is quiet. A spot of french chalk or talc usually stops it short term, you don't want to use a lubricant as that can contaminate the belt.

yeah i just sprayed it because i didnt want it to do any kind of damage as it looks like it was sticking a got a video but struggling to upload it.

a friend said use the smallest bit of petroleum jelly on the inside could stop the squeek
