Rusting door tops?

My discovery's door tops are starting to show the tell tale signs that they're about to pay homage to the rust gods.

What's the favourite solution to this?
Are the door tops a replaceable item?

Wet&Dry, Elbow grease and hammerite smooth. Yes they are replaceable. In fact if you need to replace the glass the whole top half of the door has to come off anyway.
