Hi,

I have a 2000 disco on a W reg, its a TD5 GS auto. I'm looking for advice/info on running it on svo, particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has actually done it.

Bio may be your option, svo might be a bit gloopy.
uvo to one micron filter, and titrated,washed,e.t.c. is a pain also to make.

Just be carefull it,s expensive when it goes

Woudn't you struggle to get used veg oil through a one micron filter? 20 should be fine, and is what all the other "experts" recommend

There should be megabytes of discussion about this, although the search facility seems to have been having some problems recently. There was a thread only last week, I think. I have run my 1999 TD5 on 50% bio from PureFuels in N London on long trips and was pleased by the performance and economy. However the car does smell a bit of cooking, and I definitely get better (and more expensive) performance from BP Ultimate. People are divided on SVO for the TD5, but most seem to say don't, owing to the high pressure injectors. Adding petrol is also apparently a no-no, as it tends to vaporise (I think that's what CharlesY said).:)
