The power steering box for my 85 Range Rover Classic is leaking like a
sieve. The 3 bolt cover one.
How difficult is it to strip and service it or should I leave it to a
specialist? Do I need special tools etc.

I have rebuilt an engine and a gearbox so am not a complete novice.

Thanks

They are easy to rebuild, but the usual reason for leaking is that
the sector shaft (output shaft) has a fine slot cut in it by the seal.
Changing the seal if this has happenend is a waste of time - the shaft
needs to be replaced, or the old one re-finished (someone who does
hydraulic rams etc).
