I'm looking at making my defender 90 hard top a little more water proof as I have several annoying water leaks, one of which is that bad that when I'm driving up hill its like some ones turned a tap on over my right foot, its honestly that bad!!
The seals I'm looking at replacing are the following-
Roof seal-Left and right sides
Windscreen panel to roof seal
Windscreen panel to bulkhead seal
Windscreen seal
Side panel to tub seal-Left and right sides
Air vent seals

Are there any other seals that I've forgotten or don't know about in those areas as I don't want to find out once I've stripped it? Also are there any particular suppliers or brands that offer good quality seals?

I can understand your frustration and the water ingress. Does the water only pour over your right foot or is it coming in all around the vehicle? Otherwise, you are going to a lot of trouble replacing seals that may not be a major issue.
There are door seals around the door frame and along the bottom of the door. There are gaps in the body where the body seams meet. Door seals cover these, but not well. I'd start there.

I wish it only poured in over my foot, that's the worst leak but by no means the only leak!! Both the windscreen panel seals are definitely shot and there's slight ingress from the side panels where they meet the tub. Admittedly the door seals were the first place I looked but there in good shape, fitted correctly etc. The water appears as if its coming out of the dash area mostly so I've got to get it sorted before it does any damage.

There are gaskets where the windscreen hinges (or mounting blocks on later models) attach to the bulkhead and screen frame. The bolt holes through those panels here are favourite spots for water ingress. Renew the gaskets with a light helping of sealant to assist - particularly around the bolt holes themselves.

Oh and make sure you use decent quality seals/gaskets. Particularly the side panels to tub ones. A lot of aftermarket stuff is simply the wrong size.

You have got the little plate which covers the clutch mechanism in place havent you?

Mine didnt have one when i bought mine and it used to do my tree in.

Does water get in from there if it's missing?
Mines was fitted but when Garage did the clutch it came back missing!

Mine used to pee water in through there all over my foot.

I just made one with a bit of carbon fibre the other day (i had it lying about) any bit of sheet metal will do though.

I'll be sure to get those gaskets then, thanks!! I'm at looking at getting the seals from a main dealer now as I've herd of a few people getting aftermarket sponge gskets that are to thin and don't compress down enough to seal.

To be honest I have no idea but I'll certainly be checking to see if its there later on!!
