P38A Replacing front sidelight

I need to change the FOS sidelight. Rave says that you need to remove the battery. There is a little room between battery and light housing. SO is it possible to do this without removing the battery?

You can if its a diesel haven't a clue on a petrol.

Think you will find it says O/S only remove battery cover. Not remove battery.
