hi, local key cutter advised he can't programme my key, but suggested if i got a key fob from another freelander, (have gratuitous deal with local breakers), then i would need to get the 'dongle' of the engine ecu??
my key fob works when it wants to and appears an amatuer soldering iron jockey has been in there!
just want to replace cheaply, and i get bits like that for free, so if i could rob another rover for its 'dongle' and key fob i'd be most happy. have seen a firm online that supplies a key fob and programmer thingy you plug into passenger diagnostics. can't a second hand one be done this way?
they do a key and fob in one, for about 90 plus deposit and needs your keys chip, and key fob for 65, plus 24 deposit for the programmer thingy.
anyone know what it looks like?
was gonna get one of ebay ages ago for about £4 for all in one blank key, just put your own fob inside for remote locking, mercedes original flip type lol
