Rear wiper tries to work..but doesn't

The rear wiper on my Disco 300 tries to do something, you hear a noise but nothing actually happens... however.. if you give it a little help it goes through the motions.

So the motor is working.. in some shape... just seems like it can't be bothered or is v tired.

Any ideas what the issue is? Need a new motor?

probably the salt going up the back has aprtly siezed the spindle on the wiper wheel box

WD 40 for a few days on the spindle

Removed the motor and gave it a clean but nylon gear is stripped down the centre. Time for a new motor then!

Got a new one off ebay for a bargain and it works a treat now. Wish all jobs were this easy!
