Rear Wiper Relay

Can anyone tell me where to find the relay for the rear wiper in a 97 ES please?
Also, does it serve the rear washer too or is it stand alone??
I can't get the rear wiper to work on the car but the washer is OK.
If I put live and earth to the 2 terminals on the wiper motor it works fine!!

Just had this problem on my 300TDI.

I found the relay behind the Left-Hand Side Trim panel in the front passenger footwell.

The relay on mine was a green one (Cost about 7 quid from my local main dealer).

I did not think that I cured the problem until I realised that the rear wiper wont work with the back door open. (On my old bus, anyway.)

That's funny cos I'm not sure whether they're supposed to be that way or not.
When mine was working it sometimes worked only with door shut and sometimes not at all.
I've just replaced the MFU under the fuse board and that cured most ills but the wiper is still holding out on me.
Now ordered brand new motor (£31 incl post from guy on ebay), new relay and new switch.
Fingers crossed!!

In my quest toobtain the perfect working rear wiper I have>>>>

Replaced the MFU behind the fuse box.

Cleaned all the earting points.

Replaced the switch.

Replaced the motor.

Bought a new Control Unit but can't where to put it!!!

Any ideas fellas??

Found this thread last week whilst trying to sort my rear wiper on my 300tdi which was missing when I bought the beast. Replaced everything to no avail. Spent nearly a day testing this and that, wiper worked when connected direct to the battery, turned on ignition and it parked itself OK, Just wouldn't work off the old or now brand new switch. Eventually gave up. Hey it says Land Rover in the centre of the steering wheel right? Who needs a rear wiper anyway.!
Do you know what....I found out yesterday that it actually does work but only once the engine is started!!!! WHATS ALL THAT ABOUT! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Just a tip if you find this in future.
