Bit of a weird one...

When I got my landy, it came with a host of off roading modifications, (and a host of problems due to constant off-road usage.)

One of the mods was the rear wings had been cut out at the back of the arch to raise up the "tail" profile, i.e there's almost no arch or wing after rear wheels and a small custom looking plate joins up the rear wing to the rear cross member.

I can see the benefits, watching others tackle tricky deep parts while off roading, it often looks like the rear wing is bashing the surrounding floor/walls of deep ruts, etc. Plus my exhaust has been moved to a side exit so that combined with the wing mod leaves the lany with a lot of clearance at the back.

Anyway, I'm replacing one of the rear wings soon, and I want to replicate the mod again. Someone at my landy club recently pointed it out and said what actually sounded like an official term for the mod but I have forgotten what they said. I'm sure it was "you've got a <something> tail", anyway, I'm looking around to see how others have done it, and if I can get a replacement one of the small plates, but I'm getting nowhere without knowing what to call it.

Am I even making sense? I probably need to take a photo of not.

Nice mod. I would beat the side out with block & hammer.
Have you removed a side before?

Or just do the rear where the lights are lot easier.
I don't suffer with corners just the overhang ;)

I've never taken a wing off no, but, I need to replace all of the capping parts anyway, they're riddled with holes, leaks, rust, etc. Also, my roof is in a bad way, the 14 previous owners have drilled about 500 various holes in it along the way, and it's a total mess, so I figured, I might as well do a good job of it all, and replace the wing at the same time.
