Rear window why cant i leave alone

i opened rear window to the bottom and it got stuck. eventually got it back up with me helping it & my son pushing the button now if i touch the switch or open the back dorr it goes half way down & stays there tried the reset procedure but to no avail. when i reconnect the battery it does not go fully down. when i press the up button it goes to the top sounds the alarm then returns half way down any ideas please.

sounds like the cable is frayed and about to break
