Hello, I am looking for some help with my rear window well some information actually.

I have a 1999 freelander and at the weekend the window popped out of the clamp.

It still goes up and down but the window isn’t into the clamp so looks rubbish.

I had a look down the gap and can see the clamp type thing its meant to be in so started to pop odd the inside back cover only for it to rain so had to stop.

Is there any tips you can give me on this with regards to putting it back into the clamp?

Also when I took the panel off in was a metal sheet covering so I could not just grab the clamp, has anyone done this before of any tips for me doing it so I don’t do something stupid.

hardest part is getting the window to stop half way up. use a screwdriver to turn the latch for the tailgate over, so the ecu thinks the tailgate is closed, then you can operate the window with the tailgate open. if you look really closely at the glass, you'll see some witness marks where the clamp was, just line these up and away you go.

while the cover is off, lubricate all the cables and pulleys, using grease rather than wd40 or similar. I use white lithium grease, works a treat.

good luck.
