Hi, Ive had my Freelander 5months and only done 3000mls Ive noticed the rear tyres have worn considerably on the inside, both sides with equal wear.Could this be a problem with the viscous coupling or is it a camber or tracking issue.Any ideas!

Hi

It could be a mix of all including wheel bearings. (Don't think they track rear wheels less they're real wheel steer) it may be balancing though or incorrect tyre pressures.

How old is the car ?

It will be the rear tracking, a wheel bearing failling on both sides isnt likely and you would also hear and possibly feel if they where faulty.

The rear wheels can be adjusted and i would suggest you get a 4 wheel laser allignment done on a decent machine with somebody who knows what they are doing, tip, dont use the tyre outlets as virtually all wont touch the rear wheels for tracking only the front.

You will find that if you inflate all tyres to 30psi they will last longer and they wont scrub so much, freelanders do tend to scrub a bit on back due to viscous coulpling its a normal thing but do check all bushes on back and front diff bush as they go a lot.
