hi all

i've a 2004 disco II and this evening i heard a loud bang in the rear suspension.

it looks like the rear left is raised by about 6 inches and the whole chassis is leaning over. it makes quite a noise if i go over a bump and feels rock hard.

any ideas what is the problem? i'm wondering if this is easily fixed? and of course wondering the cost?

any opinions appreciated

thanks

fintan

Hi,
Seems that you have an air suspension on the rear , and one of the air bags just broke. It should cost arround 100 quids for the part plus the fitting....
That's why I'm happy having a spring suspension on the rear.

thanks flay, d'ya think any mechanic can do it or is it a trip to the official dealer and a non-stock part.

For sure that any mechanic can do it, but as long as this suspension is electronic controlled by ECU a specific test might be needed(te re-set or calibrate the system).
The part can be found from ebay(try "discovery suspension air bag") or any other LR parts seller.
