Hi

Just need a bit of advice please, am going to change the seal on the rear axle but cant find a torque setting for the nut. also has anyone got the part number or could tell me were i can get a parts catalogue or any info/advice on changing it.

Much thanxo :D

from the heinze series book.......

rover diff......85 lbf ft

env diff.........100 -120lbf ft

salisbury ...........get an assistant to apply footbrake. carefully mark the relationship between pinion shaft, pinion flange and flange nut.( it's important that the nut is eventually refitted the same number of turns to its precise previous position)
where applicable remove split pin and undo the nut.

remove flange, you can not howk the seal out.

bung noo one in.
refit flange, nut and washer making sure the marks made on dismantling are aligned, and nut put back correct number of turns. on no account must the nut be excessively tightened.

dunno how relevent this is to yer bus but i would have thought is wur the same
