Hi all

I Have a quetion for you all...

The question i have is the rear cross member has the hole were we usually out the towing eclectic socket (I believe it is were you are ment to put your foot in it to get in) My question is i have only seen this hole on earlier series not 90's..

I cant tell you the year of it yet as it has a private plate on it and the chaps wife (as he was out) was not sure of the year..

Can you help!!!!!!

Cheers

James

if its got coils then it's a 90 or a deepender
the roof don't mean nowt - peeps are always changin them around (my 93 deepender has got a ribbed roof, me mates 89 has got a smooth roof).

what injun has it got?

so, effectively it's a 200TDi deepender, even if it started life as a 90.

is it ex-military? got a feeling the PTO hole may have remained on military ones later than civvy versions?

hmmm
well, a good 200TDi with MOT is worth 2.5 - 3.5k of anybody's munny

if yer dunt buy it I'm sure someone on ear would be interested!

If it's a 90 and the rear cross member hasn't been replaced the most likely reason for a hole in the rear cross member is rust ;)

The TD5 rear cross member has a hole in it... does it look like this:

If so... looks like the rear cross member has been replaced with a TD5 one.

You can work out the age of a Landy from it's chassis number very quickly - look for the chassis number stamped into the drivers side chassis rail ahead of the front wheel, don't use the one on the VIN plate in the engine bay as they're ridiculously easy to fake (casting no aspersions!)

Its a 17 digit alpha-numeric which will read: SALLD as the first 5 characters.

It's the 10th character you need to check against this list: All about Land Rover Vehicle Identification Numbers VIN

Cheers,

Well she is not the one for me!!

had a good prod around and is tatty.. new rear cross member and front riggers (held on by pigeon pooo weld) hole by front drivers side out rigger on chassis

Keep looking me thinks does any one know of a good 90 (200tdi) for £2000
