Recon price for a S3 axle is probably prohibitive. Replacement casing
is listed at around the £300 mark.

If it's just the case which has gone, but the diff etc is ok, then
suggest you look around for a cheap axle on Ebay, and put your diff &
swivels onto it. That way you don't need to worry about wether the
axle you're buying is any good.

That's what I did on mine, but I'm assuming it's too far gone for that
in his case.
