mind, the 110 started with that engine. a 2.5 non-turbo would be better, if
one comes to light, or a 200 TDi would be optimal, but you might have to
spend money on that.

yet people used to drive and tow with them. It's all down to expectations.
If you don't exepct it to go fast, it'll still get there, and these days,
what with the amount of traffic, probably not much later :-(

My old 109 with a 2.5 NAD was desperately slow, but had that 'tortoise
and hare' feel to it - it always got there and just kept on doing
35mph, regardless of what got in the way. I once got 50mph out of
it, but that was a white knuckle ride that Alton Towers will never
match.

I don't know how, my IIa 109" (petrol) is driving me up the wall when
I have to cruise along the m/way at 55-60mph. I can't wait to get my
project SWB up and running, with a recon 2.25 and o/d. And then I
shall start work on the 3.0 injection-into-SWB project.

I've driven an 88" 2.25 and it was noticably slower than my
