Right - got the Good Book out - here's the list of parts for
fitting a bonnet mounted Ring Type spare wheel mount for
Defenders from 2A622424 on, i.e. Td5.......(the bar type
only goes up to the end of LAxxxxxx, i.e. 200Tdi)

There's some rivets, bolts and washesr required extra -
say about 20 quid max, though probably a lot less.

It *seems*, from the Good Book, that you cannot buy a bonnet
for Td5's with the spare wheel mount fitted, it has to be
added as a kit afterwards - thats not the same as "you
can put a spare on the bonnet".

Anyway, here's the list (subject to LR's random price change
generator)......

MUC2443 Def Bonnet Spare Wheel Support
1 10.72 17.50 10.72
MUC6418 Def Bonnet Spare Wheel Reinforcement RH
1 5.54 17.50 5.54
MUC6419 Def Bonnet Spare Wheel Reinforcement LH
1 5.54 17.50 5.54
MRC4619 Spare Wheel Mounting Buffer
4 1.55 17.50 6.20
AQU110010 Def Bonnet Spare Wheel Retention 2A622424 on
1 13.00 17.50 13.00
AQU110020 Def Bonnet Spare Wheel Carrier Ring 2A622424 on
1 11.00 17.50 11.00
MRC4473 Spare Wheel Mount (Bonnet) Fixing Bolt
2 2.11 17.50 4.22
BTR550 Def Bonnet Spare Wheel Cover Plate
1 12.30 17.50 12.30
______________________________
Sub Total: £68.52
VAT Total: £11.99
Net Total: £80.51

Hope that helps!

Cheers
Richard

Richard,

Do you have a listing for the Military spec bonnet for the 90? I had a look
at one the other day and it appeared to have an integrated wheel mount.

Nope! It may be in some supplement that I don't have.......but then,
as fas as I know, the Military don't use Td5's except in "civilian"
roles.

ISTR a special bonnet for the 300 TDi with a wheel well in it.

Mind, I never had problems with my 110 bonnet - bolted the rear wheel
carrier onto the bonnet. The bonnet hasn't got a well shape or anything but
it still worked. The only mod to the carrier was some little spacers about
1" long, so that the weight of the wheel rests on the bonnet and is held
down by nuts, rather than the way it is on the rear door with 2 sets of nuts
so the wheel stands off the door.
