Mine discovery seems to be having the same problems (will start once but once stopped in the cold usually, it won't start again for an hour or so.).

I've removed some of the dash/central console and found there is not a black box there!!! Does anyones discovery (L reg/1994) have the radio which slides down at a 45 deg angle in the centre and the heating controls are on stalks. If so, where did you find the problem? I have found the central locking unit which is located under the drivers footwell but I'm still not sure if that is the problem? Any idea's???? (I think I'm going to trade it in soon if I can't sort this out )

You could try running a supply from the white wire on ign switch ( or even direct from the battery positive ) to the solenoid on the injection pump and see would this make any difference .
If you run a wire from the battery direct and it starts you can't switch it off at the ign switch - you have to remove the wire from the battery to stop it .
Or when it fails to start you could check if there is current reaching the inj pump solenoid using a test lamp etc .
