Rattle noise

hi guys i have a defender 110 with a 200tdi engine and a zf auto gearbox. i have a rattling noise (it sounds that there is somthing lose because it sounds like it is spinning round ) which i think is coming from the gear box. this dose not happen when engine is idle i thought it might be a prop shaft bt they seem to be ok . can any one suggest what it may be. thanks

Exhausts can make what sound like spinning rattling noises. I have had this a few times on the 90 and Disco, more often that not it just needs a shake to get it to sit differently.

hi mate. i had the same myself at idle on my 90 a rattle thort gearbox engine nut lose .8 months when at idle this rattle. last week had to fit a new center exhurst mount so fiddle about with it found out that one of the middle box nuts was rusted but screwed up half way and was going in circles with the rattle. little things that drive you made mate.
