well its time for another heap of l322 goodness..
im still radio active so be warned..
its possible i might have mind control powers still,@kds beware!;)
so as the title says..carswithnoreservereading..they can be found on the bay, with many many other hounds.
so i won a rr 3.6 tdv8 09 with tft dash, at a very reasonable price,:)
i studied the photos from my hospital bed as best i could and went to reading to view, yes view! even after you have won it you can still view it drive check it etc,and then you can still decide not to proceed.
all very handy but its a bit of a trek out and i was a wee bit disappointed,
had a helpful member of staff who brought the battery charger to said car to breath some life into it:(
then saw the messages from the dash, and there were manyo_O
then a check under the bonnet, hmm i sent out an expedition party to find the coolant and interesting that was covered in black oil, but not yet mixed
a quick look at the wheels and tyres, well they were runners, all egg shaped and f@cked
then a check of the interior, well for 113k on the clock it too was f@cked, im not sure of fashion, but are clothes made from sand paper ?
no signs of the tin worm in the rear quarters, wow a good point:)
couldnt get into the boot
road test, lively to say the least and extremely planted on the road, (has the later electronic dampers) very nice...but every time i dared put my 12s on the pedal the view behind me was obscured by clouds of blackness:( it was like i was being followed by my personal storm clouds:eek:
then the gearbox, as i said to @kds just after the visit..the box was on its way to the scrapper in the sky .. first gear was horrible and shuddered..picked up second with a bit of a jolt..not silky smooth
i returned it to base.. a grotty gravel car park full of traders and what looked like asylum seekers, i found the salesman, and returned the broken key fob and explained why i wouldnt proceed..:(
i did find out they are sourced from auctions which they then buy,and some are trade ins..in this case definitely auctioned because it is a nail.
i know some have had luck in the past with this site, but we were watching and putting notes against their listings and in no time they are back on after being sold ,sometimes three timeso_O
a better camera wouldnt go a miss as the photos are carefully out of focus just enough to create a soft image
as Barry Norman used to say 'you pays you're money and you eats you're popcorn'
i do fancy the hell out of the last face lifted tft dash models but will find one a little closer and one less in need of an overhaul..
maintenance is one thing, but no more rebuilds:D
however id did manage 21mpg following on from the last post..:)
if it helps..

My mate won a 3.6 tdv8 sport from them and it had problems before he even got to go and look they just canceled the bid,
i have about the bids upping as well
he ended up getting one privately with lost of history and is well nice.

The word on various forums is they bump the bids up using a separate ebay account, although this is speculation. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=1900089
thank you for that info,
ive just finished reading all the comments and it now does seem that there is a bit more to it than meets the eye,
im going to see if i can find those bidders that were mentioned,
very interesting, and just to show how gullible i am , i had no idea either, you lives and learns.

I've seen a few of their vehicles but not in the flesh as it were, always worried me traveling that distance to view a lemon.;)
i won mine f and s.. but,
but after a lengthy jaunt up from the coast i was just a wee bit annoyed,
it was nothing like i expected
like i said the camera issue is one thing, but they must have hooned it around and noted the lack of a/f, oil everywhere, gearbox imminent failure, black smoke, just some things to help buyers be more prepared,
having known half of that i would not have bothered,
but it wasn't all lost.. i managed a frugal 21mpg and picked up a set of 21 inch l405s wheels with decent scorpion tyres on the way up,
i stopped off at Camberley, aka millionaires row..
i spent a small fortune from that hospital bed
pictures of the before, during and after shots to follow.:D

Can you link too what one it is as im currently hunting for a tdv8,
hi there stu
hows it going up your end?
re dodgy range robberies, myself and @kds fancied one..
i thought i was getting one until i saw it:eek:lemon, nail, hound, im being polite.
it was 09 reg, 09 plate, black, tft dash, better suspension dash radio etc mileage said 112700,number plate is AG09 YNH. MOT just a shred left till november.
in the pictures its been left wet with soft focus so looks good,
it was relisted and made a further one hundred on what i won it at.
have a read of the comments where people have mention it on the other forums, and that link, they mentioned shill bidding,
i just checked the original listing advert as i saved it and the fourth and third and fifth to last bidders had zero and one and two feedback's,
looking like the word is right on this place:(
in the words of tubby tom from lock stock and two smoking barrels,THIS SEEMS TO BE A WASTE OF MY TIME...
let me know if i can help more.

There's a lot of shill bidding goes on on ebay. It used to be very easy go see on a person's account. Then ebay helped the scammers by hiding bidders full username. Making it impossible to check if the shill was reselling the same item after supposedly winning it.

i went into my bid history on that car,
last five bids, three of them zero one and two feedbacks, then i tried to click on their bids, low and behold you cannot go into their bids etc,
i remember doing just that, why would ebay make things worse!
lesson learnt, i wonder how long before a new member turns up with an 09 black troublesome tdv8...
