Hi folks a quick question if i may the thin pipe on the valve block where does it go to i have it attached at the valve block but the other end is not attached to nothing

If it's the thin pipe which disappears under the passenger side of the car then I think it goes to the receiver tank which is on the drivers side

The 4mm pipe from the valve block is the exhaust vent for air from bottom of diaphragm valve, it should be tucked in the harness free to air.
Thanks wammers One more question if I may what's the name of the sensor on the top of the fuel filter housing on 1997 diesel please is it a map or a maf as I just broke the pipe of and need to order a new one

MAP sensor. 1997 don't have EGR so no MAF sensor that controls it.

Cheers is that the same as turbo boost presure sensor as i cannot find a maf on island 4x4

Yes boost pressure sensor = MAP sensor. MAF sensors have not been available for these for a while from Land rover if they go faulty you won't notice any difference. .

I had wondered about that. It goes in but doesn't seem to come out!

When the compressor is powered the diaphragm valve solenoid is also powered. This feeds air to the lower part of the diaphragm valve to apply pressure and seal the diaphragm against the exhaust outlet. This allows high pressure air to flow from compressor into the inlet /exhaust gallery and past NRV 1 into the storage tank via the drier. When the compressor power and solenoid power are removed the air from beneath the diaphragm is vented to atmosphere through the 4 mm pipe and the high pressure air from the inlet/exhaust galley is vented past the diaphragm valve which is now only sealed by spring pressure from below, out through the exhaust silencer.
