hi folks!

please help i have a difficult decision to make.

i own a 1995 range rover 4.6 hse for more than 6 years now.
but i have just bought a house and money is now very tight indeed.

i have looked at getting a smaller car i.e golf tdi to find a good one i may have to pay £6000 to get good mpg.

the range got valued at £2000 i feel it is worth more to me.

or do i get the range rover converted to lpg costing around £1795 multi point system.

and i then have a cost per mile around 14p ish and live with the car i have got saving me £2205 and i still have a huge boot 4x4 for winter etc..

or do i have to bite the bullet and sell the range rover.

i will be doing a round trip every day of 40 miles

the range rover has got 155k miles on the clock will i be expecting big bills soon so my saving of £2205 might be -£2205

your views and oppions will help me make my hard decision

thanks
marc

I think £2000 is around the right price, you have owned the car for 6 years so you know all its quirks, better the devil you know. !55,000 on the clock not so bad for a v8, all cars have problems at one time or another, if the car has served you all this time without to much trouble, I would opt for LPG and I am sure you can find a conversion cheaper than £1795.

the £2k will go towards, or even cover an engine rebuild if needed! i would stick with it, i have a 96 4.6hse with rebuilt engine, new, well! "another" prepared block, so im happy to keep hold of it for ages now!

you know if you keep it you may get trouble,
you know if you sell it the new owner will get years of trouble free motoring,
you know its the law according to sod!.......dont matter what car you got!
