well, being a complete novice at lpg systems and the workings of an
lpg system im on a steep learning curve,,,,,, so heres my
problem.......
bought a 3.9 efi rangie which had been stood for 3 months. tested it
and took it straight to an lpg filling station, when it was virtually
full, it started making knocking sounds like the pipes banging, this
stopped and it filled up with 63 litres of gas.
now when i drive with the switch on gas, ie.. pressedto the left the
light flashes red, if i switch it to the centre position and switch it
back again it lights up solid green and then about 5 seconds later
flashes red again.
now heres whaat i think is happening..
i think that in the centre position the cars running on petrol switch
to the fully left position and theres a dip in engine revs but picks
up straight away, this i believe is switching to gas, then 5 seconds
later it switches back to petrol, i cant get it to stay on gas.
the system was fitted by 4-tech in the year 2000 so is 5 years old,
does anyone know why it wont stay on gas? The pipe from the vaporiser
which carries the gas goes to the air intake between the plenum
chamber and the air meter it has a conicle thing on it which has wires
sealed with lead crimps.
i hope someone has a clue to whats happening as being a newbie im just
fumbling my way thru.
are there any troubleshooting sites for lpg systems?
many thanks
