So, while doing everything back up after doing the o-rings I came across a connector under the steering wheel/column that wasn't plugged in to anything and nothing to plug it in to. It was similar to the connector further down for the footwell light.

I know it's a long shot without a photo but any idea what it could have been for?

If it's under the dash between steering column and heater it is likely the clutch switch connector for the manual. If yours is auto forget about it.

Nah wammers, it's under the steering column, where the vent is on the trim? The bollock heater. The wires do seem to head up towards the barrel/steering wheel

If it's a white two pin plug with a Yellow/green wire and a black wire it's what i said it was. There is no other redundant connector in that area.
