Radio & driver window problems.

Can anyone help me? My radio comes on led faint and makes a nasty sound, after some time it comes to life led bright then after some time it goes off again! It is a factory fitted Land Rover head unit with Harmen carden upgrade.
Also my drivers door window has dropped is this down to age? How can I fix it?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Sorry for any spelling mistakes but I used the spell checker and it deleted all the text! :-O

Hi

Radio sounds most bizarre like a bad connection that jumps in and out. Windows dropping or stiffening up is fairly common usually means the regulator has had some teeth stripped with use and hence can no longer push the window all the way.

Threads on replacing the regualtor abound.

I called at a repair shop this morning and they recon its something to do with the speakers and its a common fault, said the system sends a signal to the speaker and back and 1 is down but a long job to find which one! I think they were full of **** to be honest!
If it was a bad connection it wouldnt just spring to life stood still! would it? :-o
Thanks for the help I'm sure someone will know what it is, how hard is it to get the inner door panel off my window is slightly open and its blooming cold up north!!!

Not too bad, just be careful releasing the trim studs. May pay to get a few replacements beforehand in case you break a few-cheap enough- and peel the inner plastic shield back carefully, it's stuck on by a type of mastic.
