Hi, I need more bloody help, I was going for a short drive this evening when the battery light came on and the power steering stopped working. I then noticed that it felt like it was running strange. I can't explain it better than that so I stopped and opened the bonnet but with it being pitch black couldn't see much but heard a sort of bubbling noise but couldn't see any water or oil coming from anywhere so I decided to turn round and head home. At this point engine temp was fine and battery gauge thing seemed fine but light was still on then I noticed that the tempreture shot up so I stopped and opened the bonnet again and this time there was some steam and water coming from the hose at the top of the radiator. once I had been towed home I checked the header tank but it hadn't lost a huge amount of water. Does anyone know whether the radiator is burst or just a loose hose? Also is it associated with the oil light problem I have been having? Please help me and please tell me it isn't going to be too serious. I am almost losing the will to live with landys

Looks like a belt busted right enough.

Just check that nothing has siezed causing the belt to go.

Get TWO belts and fit one.

Carry the other as a spare.

It turns out 4 bolts on the pulley assembly had sheared off which stopped the belts for the water pump, power steering and alternator.

Thanks for the help again guys.
