Hi all,

New to this forum and I’ve read about every post related to my plan to upgrade my S3 LHD 109 but all posts got me bit confused by now…

Here’s my plan: put in short bellhouse defender LT77 where currently my props are (I read all about UJ/CV joint but plan to install 2/4WD option from Ashcroft to avoid any future problems so that’s sorted:)
This way I shouldn’t have problems to work on handbrake drum. Gearlever would come bit forward but lever can be modified if needed.

Put 200/300DI (non turbo) in front of that and use electric fan with stock series radiator and exhaust (adapted of course). Yes this would mean I have to relocate my motor+gearbox mounts but would this setup fit within the bay, not hit any crossmembers and allow to keep Series front?

Does anybody have simple sketch of LT77/230 main dimensions to check before starting this job?

Slight preference to go 300DI route since this engine is available cheaper with lower mileage, easier for parts and less vibration I’m told.

Am I missing something or would this be possible?
Any feedback is appreciated!
