Quick question... Can a Puma 6-speed box be put onto a 300tdi? Has anybody done this and can it be done without moving any chassis mounts? I think it would be nice to have the 6th gear on the motorway.

If you have searched this has been covered before. The 6th gear is no different than 5th on a r380, 0r lt77. Look at the ration of the gear boxes for each gear.
A 1.2 transfer box would be your best choice, and your tyre size plays into how things work for speed and MPG if that is what you are looking for

Thanks. I done a quick search, but must have missed it. It wasn't for fuel economy (it's a Defender) lol. It was more for long distance driving, but didn't realize the ratio was the same as the R380!!!

So in a nut-shell.... They'll be not benefit at all?

Correct but a 1.2 ratio transfer box will, giving you better road capability, even maybe better MPG. But your low range will be the same for off road driving
